UPDATE: Talks on Greece's interim prime minister hit another roadblock Wednesday.
Sources told Reuters today that Filippos Petsalnikos is favored to be Greece's next prime minister. Previous reports had identified Lucas Papademos, the former vice president of the European Central Bank and ex-governor of the Bank of Greece, as the front-runner for the new prime minister position.
Barring any last-minute changes, Greek party leaders have agreed on Filippos Petsalnikos, the speaker of the Greek parliament, to head the country's new coalition government.
"We have agreed on Petsalnikos but things can change between now and when the prime minister sees the president," an unnamed source who is close to the discussions between outgoing prime minister George Papandreou's socialist PASOK party and opposition leader Antonis Samaras' conservative New Democracy party said to Reuters.

Greece's political leaders have agreed on a new government, Papandreou said on Wednesday.
In a televised address Papandreou said that a government of national unity would do whatever was necessary to bring Greece out of crisis, CNN reported.
In his speech he discussed what he has accomplished in the past two years, and how a new chapter begins for Greece.
He did not say who would replace him.
"I would like to wish every success to the new prime minister and of course the new government. I will stand by them and I will support them with all my strength," Papandreou said in an address to the nation, Reuters reported.
Earlier today, Papandreou told Nicolas Sarkozy that the new Greece government would have support from both the majority and the opposition.
