It is what it is… video footage of a dog attacking a shark under water on the Australian coast.

The video, showing two dogs swimming in the ocean near the West Australian town of Broome, about 1,000 miles north of Perth, and "herding" several sharks toward shore as their owners happily look on, was posted on YouTube and immediately became a hit.

"The dog is biting the shark," exclaims Russell Hood-Penn, reportedly the man behind the camera. "That is unbelievable. I've seen it all now."

Pan left, to the dead dugong — similar to a manatee and incidentally on Australia's list of endangered and extinct mammals animals — apparently speared for someone's "dinner."

Many shark species are similarly protected in Australia, though the species attacked by Hood-Penn's canine companions is never revealed.

One wonders how many laws — not just of of nature — are being broken in the space on one viral video filming.
