Herman Cain’s campaign has close ties to Koch brothers.
Businessman Herman Cain is interviewed following the Republican party debate August 11, 2011 in Ames, Iowa. Most of the eight Republican presidential that participated in the debate spent the week campaigning across the state to prepare for the debate and Saturday’s Iowa Straw Poll.
Herman Cain, the latest Republican candidate to join the front runners for the 2012 election, doesn’t just have the support of some GOP voters; he has the Koch brothers on his side, the Associated Press reports.
As Cain’s campaign grows in popularity, it is also being placed under the microscope, showing his economic ideas, support and organization are all closely linked to billionaire businessmen brothers Charles and David Koch, the Washington Post reports. The Kochs are known for funding the right through advocacy groups, such as Americans for Prosperity, which lobbies for lower taxes and less government regulation and spending.

As his Koch ties came to light Sunday morning, Cain spoke out saying he “won’t be a flavor of the week” candidate and his rise to the top of GOP presidential election polls will be permanent, the AP reports. Recent polls have shown Cain alongside Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.
