US firms post 10th consecutive quarter of earnings growth, but questions remain about how many jobs will be created at home

Big US firms are booming, despite the ongoing global economic woes, due to growth in India and China, according to the Globe & Mail.

Once again, the largest U.S. companies are posting big profits, making it likely that this will be the tenth consecutive quarter of solid earnings growth. A large proportion of the S&P 500 have already reported this earnings season, and the numbers are good, the paper said.

But what does that mean for regular Americans?  Maybe not so much.  Because most of the profits are being earned in Asia, that's where the jobs are likely to be found, too.

There are questions about how many jobs American companies will add at home. The unemployment rate south of the border has started to tick higher again, and that means U.S. consumers will continue to be strapped for cash, the paper said..
