Paris fashion week always highlights the latest collections of top designers. This year Giorgio Armani decided to use his creative talents to reach out to the victims of Japan's recent earthquake and tsunami.
The new creations of his exclusive Haute Couture collection of Fall/Winter 2011-2012 were displayed at Paris Fashion Week on July 4 and 5. The designs were inspired by Japan's cultural heritage and featured floral silk prints, kimono-style dresses, geisha hairdos and other Japanese visual symbols like the traditional fan and the cherry blossom.
Armani is donating funds to a UNESCO scholarship program to help child victims of Japan's natural disaster according to the New York Times. The Italian designer said he has always admired and been captivated by Japanese culture.
