A woman in the UK killed a 10-week-old kitten by putting the animal in the microwave. She was jailed Wednesday for more than five months.
Gina Robins, 31, was found guilty of causing the animal unnecessary suffering. She put her neighbor’s pet into the microwave as an act of revenge after having a falling out with her, the BBC reported. She will be jailed for 168 days and banned from owning animals for 10 years.

"You have shown little remorse either for the death of the kitten or the trauma to your former friend Sarah Knutton," the British judge told Robins.
Knutton said she heard a loud popping noise from her kitchen “like a crisp packet being popped” followed by the sound of her cat wailing.
After the pet died, Robins then sent a phone message to her former friend, texting "Remember the saying: 'What goes around comes around?' It has started already to bite you in the arse. The cat? Karma."
The Guardian quoted Knutton as saying after the sentencing: "What sort of person does something so cold and calculating? I did not expect her to go to jail for it. I am just glad it is now all over."
