Teacher found guilty of group sex with five of her students – but husband forgives her

GlobalPost

Jurors took less than an hour today to convict Brittni Colleps, a married mother-of-three, on 16 counts of an improper relationship between a teacher and student.

Colleps, 28, who met the students while teaching at Kennedale High School in Texas, repeatedly invited the teenagers to her home for sex, ABC News reported.

The teenagers told the court she contacted them through text messages, or by "poking" them on Facebook.

In graphic detail, the five students reluctantly testified against their former teacher, with one student admitting to filming the sex romp on his cellphone.

One student, known as John, gave evidence that he had been to the teacher's home with friends and she cooked them spaghetti, before she showed them sex toys — some of which lighted up.

The Star Telegram reported that John said that after his friend, Jordan, was dared to have sex with Colleps, all the students eventually made their way into her bedroom, where they had sex with her.

Colleps’ husband, Christopher Colleps, who was overseas serving in the U.S. military at the time, said he had watched the sex video and he was "mad at her" but he was trying to come to terms with it through church and prayer.

He said that what his wife did was “morally and ethically wrong” but that’s “between me and her and God.”

Mr Colleps asked the judge to show leniency as it was their three children who would suffer if she was jailed, The Star Telegram reported.

Colleps will be sentenced later today and faces up to 20 years jail.
