The Stop Online Privacy Act is a bill proposed by members of Congress designed to shut down websites that provide or encourage online piracy.

SOPA supporters include the US Chamber of Commerce, the Motion Picture Association of America, the American Federation of Musicians and the Screen Actors Guild. Internet giants like Google, Facebook and Twitter have rallied on the opposing end in an attempt to stop the bill from passing.

Supporters of the Stop Online Piracy Act say its a way to stop online piracy. Opposers say its a form of censorship. GlobalPost aggregated what people on both ends have been saying in the SOPA debate.
