Police have arrested seven black teenagers on suspicion that they beat up a Hispanic teenager on March 14, 2012, because of his race.
The Associated Press reported that seven black teenagers were arrested on suspicion of committing a hate crime when they attacked a 15-year-old Hispanic boy in southern California.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the boy was attacked while he was walking home from school on March 14, and the beating was captured on video and posted on YouTube. It has since been removed from the site.
The seven boys were arrested on Wednesday according to Lt. Don Ford, and they range in age from 13 to 16.

ABC News said the video showed as many as 10 boys surrounding the victim. They started hitting him and making racially derogatory remarks, which were captured on the video. When he fell to the ground, the attackers kicked him in the head, knocking out several teeth and leaving shoe impressions on his skin, Ford said.
The victim was able to escape, but will need to undergo dental surgery.
The teens were arrested after being identified from the video, and the police are seeking three additional suspects.
Just last week, 32-year-old Shaima Alawadi was found unconscious after being beaten and suffering from a head injury in California, in what is also suspected to be a hate crime. Alawadi died from her wounds last Saturday, and was buried in Iraq today, according to Reuters.
