According to Sarah Palin, Hilary Rosen's remarks that Ann Romney shouldn't be talking about women and the economy have stirred up conservative women.
“The comments [she] made today certainly have awakened mama grizzlies across the nation, and I know that because I got a lot of emails today — a lot of text messages from apolitical girlfriends, some who have chosen to stay home over the years,” Palin said on Fox News.
Rosen, a Democratic strategist, said that the wife of wealthy Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has “never worked a day in her life" creating a media storm and provoking harsh criticism from the GOP and a distancing from the Obama administration.
The controversy points to how the presidential race is becoming a battle for women voters.

Politico reports the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate defended Ann Romney, a cancer survivor who is battling multiple sclerosis, for the choice she made to stay home with her children.
Ann Romney responded over Twitter, "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work."
Rosen later apologized for her "poorly chosen" words, according to The New York Times. Rosen said she was trying to respond to Mitt Romney’s “poor record on the plight of women’s financial struggles.”
President Obama also weighed in on issue, calling out Rosen, wrote CBS News. "There's no tougher job than being a mom. Anybody who would argue otherwise, I think, probably needs to rethink their statement."
First Lady Michelle Obama, also jumped in on Twitter to defend Romney saying "every mother works hard."
