Michelle Obama helps break jumping jack world record

Michelle Obama successfully broke a jumping jack world record when she led hundreds of kids on the South Lawn of the White House Monday as a part of her Let’s Move initiative to end childhood obesity.

Over 300,000 people around the world was involved in the effort, a world record for most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period, crushing the old record of 20,000 participants, Mrs. Obama’s team said.

Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan and NBC Good Morning America’s Al Roker kicked off the event, introducing Mrs. Obama as the “Jumper-in-Chief.”

"More than anything, I want to say, thanks to every single young person who showed that exercise isn't just good for you, but that it's fun too," the First Lady said in a video.

National Geographic Kids organized the event and technically holds the Guinness record, according to the Los Angeles Times.

It was not small feet, but Mrs. Obama said the Let’s Move! campaign wants to tackle an even larger hurdle. "We've got an even bigger goal to after," she said. "Ending childhood obesity in a generation."
