Mexican music star Jenni Rivera’s remains have been found: CNN

Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera's remains have been identified and given to her family, CNN cited Mexican officials as saying today.

The superstar died in a plane crash on Sunday alongside six others after the plane dove 28,000 feet in 30 seconds, said USA Today, noting that authorities are investigating the accident. 

The spokesman for Mexico's Nuevo Leon state merely said the remains had been found, and did not explain further, said CNN

The situation regarding Rivera's remains has been the subject of some controversy, with several policemen accused of trying to steal items from the plane wreck, according to FOX News Latino. Until Thursday, Rivera's family had said they were still holding out hope she had survived the crash.
