Channing Tatum named 2012 “Sexiest Man Alive”

GlobalPost

Hollywood heartthrob Channing Tatum says he is shocked that he has been crowned the "Sexiest Man Alive", joining the likes of Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

"My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,'" Tatum told People Magazine.

His wife, actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum, was equally perplexed.

"I told Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked."

"She was like, 'What?'"

"Yeah, she calls me [the Sexiest Man Alive] now," the Alabama-born actor laughs.

Tatum, who bared almost all in Magic Mike this year, is currently in training for a role as an Olympic athlete in Foxcatcher.

At 32, he says he is ready to start a family, but the actor, whose movie credits include "21 Jump Street," "The Vow" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," has a busy film schedule.

CBS News reports the former dancer and model is set to star in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," "White House Down" and "21 Jump Street 2".

ABC News reports the special People magazine issue also names worthy celebrity men in other categories. Newlywed Justin Timberlake and "Taken 2" actor Liam Neeson made the Chill Guys list.

Former President Bill Clinton, President Barack Obama, and CNN host Anderson Cooper are on the 50 Shades of Grey list.
