Anthony Weiner and wife, Huma Abedin, are now the parents of a baby boy, Jordan Zane Weiner, the Huffington Post reported.

The baby was born on Wednesday night. He was a little over seven pounds, the New York Post reported.

In September, former congressman Weiner, an up-and-coming politician reportedly with dreams of living in Gracie Mansion, came under fire for lewd photos that he sent to a woman on Twitter.

He resigned amid the scandal, and his seat in Congress was then won by Republican Bob Turner.

Abedin is an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Clinton was among the guests at a Washington, DC, baby shower last month for Abedin. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Democratic National Committee Chair Debbier Wasserman Schultz also attended the shower.

According to the Post, many wondered if Weiner and Abedin's relationship would have survived without the announcement of Abedin's pregnancy.
