Clashes between pro- and anti-Morsi protesters and the military continued in Egypt on Monday, with at least 53 Morsi supporters reportedly killed in gunfire.

Deposed President Mohamed Morsi's group, the Muslim Brotherhood, called for an uprising after the alleged "massacre."

While witnesses said the army and police were the ones firing shots, the military claimed it was reacting to an "armed terrorist group" raiding the Republican Guard's compound.
