At least 33 people are dead after a bus skidded off the road and plunged into a river in northern India on Wednesday, Agence France-Presse reported.
Outlook India reported more than 60 passengers were on board the overloaded bus when it crashed near Kullu in Hamachal Pradesh state.
So far, 33 bodies have been retrieved from the fast-flowing waters of the Beas river, but rescue workers expect the death toll to rise as some of the bodies may have been swept downriver.
Wednesday’s bus crash comes nearly two months after 37 people were killed when a passenger bus careered off a bridge into a river in the western state of Maharashtra.
