Recruiting & Retaining Women at the Top

The Takeaway

Back in the late 1960s, when the first female traders were allowed on the floor of Wall Street, they were treated more like the butts of jokes than trailblazers.
Today, the finance and business sectors have come a long way, but they still struggle to put women in the ranks, or keep them there.
Malli Gero and Rachel Sklar are two people who are trying to change that.
Rachel Sklar is co-founder of Change The Ratio, which seeks to increase visibility and opportunity for women in fields where they’re underrepresented.
Malli Gero is co-founder and executive director of 2020 Women on Boards, which seeks to change the make-up of the Fortune 1000 boards from few or no women to 20 percent by the year 2020.
Sklar and Gero join The Takeaway to discuss their efforts to change things at the top.
