Iran has convicted a 28-year-old American of working as a spy for the CIA, and sentenced him to death. State radio says the Arizona-born former military translator tried to plot against Iran while working with a hostile country. His father, a community college professor in Michigan, says his son was visiting his grandmother in Iran when he was arrested.
