A 48-hour strike has slowed Greece to a halt this morning, with people of all professions–doctors, ambulance drivers, actors, journalists–walking off their jobs to protest a $40 billion austerity package, which Parliament will vote on tomorrow. Polls show 80 percent of Greeks are against the package, which would need to pass in order for Greece to receive a bail-out from the European Union. Airports are closed, and public transport has stopped running.
