Some are calling it the end of the Musharaff era … reports today say Pakistani President Pervez Musharraff will step down in the next 72 hours rather than face impeachment. It’s been a rapid descent for the man who once ruled a critical ally in the U.S.’s war on terror. He has lost political backing not only from civilian allies but more importantly from the powerful military that he led for nearly a decade.
