The Childballads

In the late ’90s, Stewart Lupton was the frontman for Jonathan Fire*Eater, who have been called “the most hyped band you never heard.” After signing to Dreamworks and releasing only one album, the band broke up in 1997, with three members going on to form indie rockers The Walkmen. Lupton, however, disappeared from view for nearly a decade. Recently he’s returned with a new group, The Childballads, named after a collection of 305 ballads from Scotland and England put together by Francis James Child in the late 19th century. Their debut EP Cheekbone Hollows” is in stores now. Stewart Lupton performs live in the Fair Game studios.
