A Plaza Towers Elementary School Teacher on Moving Forward

The Takeaway

One week ago today, a massive tornado tore through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, killing 24 people, including seven children who died at Plaza Towers Elementary School. The tornado produced winds of more than 200 M.P.H. that leveled whole blocks of homes and businesses.
When President Obama visited the community yesterday, he singled out the bravery of so many local teachers: “From the forecasters who issued the warnings, to the first responders who dug through the rubble, to the teachers who shielded with their own bodies their students, Oklahomans have inspired us with their love and their courage and their fellowship.”
Lindsie Harms,  a fifth grade teacher at Plaza Towers Elementary School, explains how the community is moving forward.
