Syrian forces loyal to President Bashar-al-Assad ended a four-day-old ceasefire yesterday with shelling in Homs, just as United Nations military observers arrived in Damascus. How will the UN mission move forward? Just south of Syria, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on Tuesday. Fayyad will deliver a letter from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, demanding that Israel accept a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.
