Freakonomics: The Movie!

The Takeaway
Since its publication in 2005, millions of people have read "Freakonomics." The best selling book, written by economist Steven Levitt and New York Times reporter Stephen Dubner, examines pop culture and everyday life through the economic lens of incentives. The result was unexpectedly funny and popular enough to have spawned a newly emerging media empire, including Freakonomics Radio and "Freakonomics: The Movie." Levitt, Dubner and Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock teamed up, along with five other directors, to make the film version of the book as true to the original spirit of the project as possible. The result, according to Dubner, is a collection of small film vignettes based on nothing, just like the book.
