For this Ukrainian comic, standup is a defense mechanism

Ukrainian comic Anton Tymoshenko is based in Kyiv, and since the start of the war in Ukraine, he’s begun performing in both Ukrainian and English. Amid a groundswell of comedy in his country, Tymoshenko has managed to cross over to reach a global, English-speaking audience. He says that, for him, comedy is a way to process the war — it’s also a defense mechanism, and sometimes a distraction. The World’s Daniel Ofman reports.
