WTA suspends play in China as concerns over Peng Shuai’s safety linger

The International Olympic Committee is the only sports governing body that has had direct contact with Peng Shuai since she posted sexual assault allegations and subsequently disappeared from public life. The IOC says Shuai “appears to be safe and well,” but human rights organizations and sports authorities are continuing to ask: Where is Peng Shuai?
