Will UK help house Sudanese refugees following success of ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme?

The United Kingdom’s schemes to help settle Ukrainian refugees by pairing them with UK households — who welcomed them as guests — helped house over 170,000 Ukrainians since the war began last year. Now, one of the creators of the UK’s “Homes for Ukraine” scheme is calling on the British government to support a similar one for Sudan, as thousands of people desperately try to leave the country amid a civil war. Dr. Krish Kandiah of the Sanctuary Foundation, a UK charity, has told The World’s host Marco Werman that similar action must be taken for Sudanese refugees.
