Why eating lionfish can help maintain healthy seas

Rising temperatures have pulled invasive species like the lionfish from the Red Sea and into the Mediterranean, where their pretty-but-poisonous spikes and voracious appetites are threatening unsuspecting vacationers and local wildlife alike. In an effort to help local fishermen and keep lionfish populations in check, Turkish environmentalists are selling invasive fish to restaurants in the hopes of jump-starting a new, climate-friendly industry.
