Nordic countries have exported a slew of buzzwords to the rest of the world: The Danes have their hygge, or “cozy contentment.” The Swedes gave us lagom, finding joy in moderation. Now there’s a word with more substance than its predecessors: the Finnish word, sisu. During these hard times, this four-letter word may have something to offer the rest of the world.
