What Ramadan is like when you’re cooking food all day

The World

Ramadan is a time when Muslims across the world fast from sunrise to sunset. That means no eating, no drinking and no impure thoughts throughout the day. This is hard for anyone but maybe more so for those who have to spend all day cooking and selling food to customers — like food truck owners in New York. The World’s Shirin Jaafari and Slate video producer and editor Aymann Ismail spent a day in the Big Apple and spoke with some of the truck owners.
