It was the slimmest presidential election victory in Poland since the end of communism there in 1989. But Sunday night, Poland’s incumbent President Andrzej Duda narrowly won reelection with 51.2% of the vote. Duda fought a divisive campaign promising to bring back family values at the expense of LGBTQ rights. Opponents say his win could be detrimental to independent media, the judiciary and the LGBTQ community in Poland. The World’s Carol Hills speaks with Magda Dropek, an LGBTQ activist in Krakow.
