What does Russia’s war against Ukraine mean for Europe and the world order?

The World

President Joe Biden and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy have expressed the idea that Russia’s war against Ukraine isn’t only about Ukraine. The war represents the clash between democracy and autocracy and freedom versus repression. Zelenskiy has appealed to Western leaders and demanded that they stand by “European” or “Western” values that institutions like the EU, NATO and the UN are supposed to uphold. Host Carol Hills speaks with historian and Atlantic magazine staff writer, Anne Applebaum.
