West African farmers await fertilizer in advance of growing season

Farmers in sub-Saharan Africa grow their crops with 10% of the fertilizer used by the average farm globally. And with the fertilizer shortage sparked by the war in Ukraine, fears are mounting that hunger will be on the rise. Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman reports from Accra, Ghana that the African Development Bank is implementing a $1.5 billion strategy to supply fertilizer to West Africa, though farmers are concerned it won’t arrive in time for the growing season.
