Vyshyvanka Day in Ukraine

Every year on the third Thursday of May, Ukrainians celebrate Vyshyvanka Day. The vyshyvanka, an elaborately embroidered shirt or dress, is one of the best-known symbols of Ukrainian culture. But some vyshyvankas have changed since Russia’s full-scale invasion last year, veering away from traditional symbols to ones that are more significant at this moment. Think drones instead of flowers. The World’s Daniel Ofman reports from Kyiv.
