Vladimir Putin visits Belarus

The World

On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Belarusian capital of Minsk to meet with Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. This is Putin’s first visit to Belarus since 2019. In Ukraine, there’s been speculation that Russia is trying to further integrate Belarus into its military command, and increase Belarus’ role in the war. There have also been fears of a new offensive coming from Ukraine’s northern border with Belarus. The World’s Daniel Ofman reports.
