Venezuela postcard: Unwilling to obey orders to shoot, a woman in the army flees for the US

The World

Libia Guzman served in the Venezuela military. But when she was told that her orders would include shooting people, she refused. To avoid prosecution, she fled her country. It was a perilous journey. Guzman sheltered first with family and then with strangers. At one point, the group she was with was kidnapped. Now safely in Colorado, she told her story to Aspen Public Radio.
