US troops are heading back to Somalia

This week, President Joe Biden approved the reestablishment of a small US military presence for Somalia. It’s a reversal of a decision by former President Donald Trump who withdrew US forces operating there last year. The move comes amid the ongoing threat posed by the al-Qaeda affiliate, al-Shabab.
