US holds training exercises with sanctioned Myanmar junta

Since Myanmar’s military seized power in a coup two years ago, the US government has tried to isolate the junta through sanctions. It has even taken steps toward supporting an armed uprising to restore democracy in Myanmar. But this month, Washington chose to participate in joint military training exercises. The World’s Patrick Winn says this flies in the face of official US policy.
