US ambassador-at-large for global criminal justice says the US is helping the ICC investigate war crimes in Sudan

The International Criminal Court has been using an old resolution from the UN Security Council on the Darfur region in Sudan in 2005, to investigate ongoing atrocities in the current conflict there. In a conversation with The World’s Carolyn Beeler, Beth Van Schaack, the US ambassador-at-large for global criminal justice, confirms that the United States is supporting the ICC investigation — this can be in the form of information-sharing, diplomatic pressure, and more.
