When eastern Ukraine came under heavy fire from Russia last year, a woman escaped with her mother and five dogs strapped into the passenger seats. She and her pack have settled near the Serbian capital of Belgrade, but she faces an uncertain future in a country where she doesn’t always feel welcome.
