Leonid Ostaltsev began his military service in 2014, when Russian initially invaded Ukraine. He continued supporting the military through his business, a pizzeria called Veterano Pizza, hiring Ukrainian military veterans. The World’s Daniel Ofman spoke with Ostaltsev a year ago, in the days leading up the war, and he caught up with him again, one year later in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv.
