Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has signed what parliament named the Anti-Homosexuality Act. Same-sex relations were already illegal in Uganda, but the new bill lists new potential punishments that include life in prison — or even the death penalty. The World’s Carol Hills talked with Maria Burnett, a senior associate in the Africa Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, about what kind of international reaction could be in store for Uganda, and what it might look like.
