Police in Turkmenistan have been raiding businesses at random, looking for contraband. It’s nothing new in the Central Asian police state, but the target of raids in recent months have been beauty salons and women’s hairdressers. The contraband can include fake eyelashes and acrylic nails, according to Radio Free Europe. It’s seen as part of a wider crackdown on women’s rights in the country.
