Tarkan, one of the biggest names in Turkish pop music, has just returned from a long hiatus to release “Geçcek,” or “It Will Pass.” Though on the surface it can be read as a message of encouragement two years into a global pandemic, many say it’s a veiled way to say that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s rule over the country will soon end.
