Transferring FEMA money to ICE

The Department of Homeland Security notified Congress earlier this year it was transferring $10 million from FEMA to ICE. The line items include money from “Preparedness and Protection” and “Response and Recovery.” It was part of a $200 million transfer from different parts of the DHS to ICE, to pay for the detention and transfer of undocumented immigrants.
