This Libyan pop star wants to go global

Growing up in Libya’s capital of Tripoli, Bahjat Etorjman dreamed of becoming a musician. When conflict broke out in his home country in 2011, he fled with his family to Malta. It’s there that he got the chance to make his dreams come true. Now his songs, which blend Arabic, English and Libyan dialects, are attracting a huge global fanbase. The World’s Halima Gikandi spoke with Bahjat about his music and what’s next for the singer.
