The metaverse is shorthand for digital worlds, often experienced through a headset, that are super immersive. Tech gurus predict that moving forward this is how many people will spend time online. It’s the reason Facebook changed its name to Meta. But South Korea’s government doesn’t want Silicon Valley to monopolize the metaverse.
