The slants took their name all the way to the Supreme Court

The World

The Slants have been around since 2006. Simon Tam, the leader of the band, is Asian American. Calling his band The Slants got him into a lot of trouble: It landed him in court… and eventually the US Supreme Court. Tam wrote about his experience in a new memoir, Slanted: How an Asian American Troublemaker Took on the Supreme Court. He speaks to host Carol Hills.
