Pope Benedict, who died at age 95, was laid to rest on Thursday following his funeral at the Vatican. Pope Francis, his successor, led worshippers in prayer on the steps of St. Peter’s Basilica. It was a rare requiem for a deceased pope delivered by a living one. The World’s Carol Hill spoke with Massimo Faggioli, a professor of historical theology at Villanova University, about Benedict’s legacy and where the Catholic Church goes from here.
