Yoichi Funabashi’s new book, “Meltdown: Inside the Fukushima Nuclear Crisis,” is based on interviews with more than 300 officials, power plant operators and military personnel involved in the Fukushima disaster. Funabashi talks with The World’s Marco Werman about the mistakes and miscalculations that marked one of the most dangerous episodes of the nuclear age.
